I found this out because I went to the focus group where we saw the pilot
and had to rate it. I of course gushed about her performance and gave her
the highest ratings. Anyway.......
It's being called Big Shots now. Other names to choose from were: Perfect
Gentelmen, Unperfect Gentleman, Firmwood, etc. I chose big shots since it
seemed to fit better.
It will be premiering in the fall as a comedy-drama and also stars
Christopher TitusI forgot the other threes names but 2 are super good
looking well-known tv types and the last one is a nerdy looking actor that I
never saw before.
The pilot episode was about 4 rich, successful men and their lives and the
women who love them. A lot of the scenes are at the countryclub (Firmwood I
think?) or at thier various jobs or homes. Peyton List plays Duncan's
daughter Cameron (you already knew this). She calls her dad "Duncan" and he
hates it. She is an out-spoken spoiled brat at times but you can see she
actually loves her dad and wants his approval so she asks him for a job. Her
mom and dad are divorced but are "seeing" each other and say they get along
better now although the mom is also dating. They talked about the
possibility of an episode in the future where her mom gets engaged and it
makes Duncan upset and scared to lose her. In this episode he is interviewed
by an executive magazine for the cover when the journalist hints that she
knows there might be a story about one cold rainy night.. welllater at the
club he tells the guys what really happened.. he ended up with a hooker one
night that turned out to be a dude! They go to find her/him and pay her
$1000 to keep quiet but the journalist has her wired for the transaction.
Peyton had scenes with the transvestite Dontrelle that were good.
I REALLY liked this show. It was very funny in some parts (Christopher
Titus does a lot of the comedy) and then it was dramatic at times so
it had a nice mix. They will be competing with Desparate housewives or they
are at least trying to develop a similar show since they asked us how we
liked it compared to it.
Titus plays a man obviously in love with his mystery wife (the only
character they did not show the face of.. how intriguing!), but he
complains to his friends about her constantly. Like I said, lots of
comedy from him. In the pilot, he is throwing a milestone party for his
wife and it has to be ABSOLUTELY perfect!
Good-looking actor # 2 plays a guy who while at the Countryclub on a
sunday, gets fired from his boss. The boss, winds up killed accidentally
on the golf course and he goes to work the next day and his swipe card
still works! He doesn't say anything to anyone including his assistant
played by
Nia Long. Three things come out in this storyline: Nia has a
crush on him, his wife had an affair with his now deceased boss, and he
ends up getting his job. Let the drama unfold...
Last but not least was the story of the nerdy type. He has a wife named
Wendy who is the perfect wife type. He is a pharmaceutical company owner
(they hint at the fact that it's the one that makes Viagra). Wendy and
he go to couples therapy. While sitting there he gets a sexy message
from his mistress and he can't concentrate. Next scene is them in bed
together. She asks him if he and his wife go out or anything and he says
no we don't have anythign in common and we only go to couples therapy.
She insists that they go too! Next scene with them is him and the
mistress in couples therapy with the same therapist!! It ws funny.
Mistress ends up getting mad because she sees two movie tickets where he
took his wife and says she's going to tell Wendy. She goes to tell but
ends up saying she was the interior decorator he hired and the two
become best friends!!!! It was hilarious!
